The first-generation Ford F-Series was introduced in 1948 and was the first post-war truck design that Ford had created. This was very unique for the company as they broke off from using their car chassis and opted for a dedicated truck platform. This proved to be a very good move for the company as it went on to be more capable and gave many options to broaden the utilitarian purpose of their vehicle. From the F-1 all the way to their F-8, these trucks came with different engine choices, bed lengths, weight ratings and purposes such as a parcel truck or school bus.
